BIO

Phil is a writer, director and producer. His debut feature film JUMP, DARLING starring Thomas Duplessie and the late, legendary Cloris Leachman has played over three dozen film festivals, won multiple awards and sold in territories across four continents. His action-drama series pilot, HUBRIS+PARANOIA was a 2018 BlueCat Semi-Finalist. His geo-political feature drama, RANA PLAZA, about the 2013 factory collapse in Bangladesh, was recently named a Semi-Finalist for the 2021 Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. He is currently working with Sungate Films on a new small-town crime drama series titled NORTH BIG ISLAND ROAD.

Prior to his feature film and series work, Phil cut his teeth on short films, music videos, commercials and branded content. His coming-of-age short film, KISSING DREW, played film festivals around the world before being released on Peccadillo Pictures’ Boys on Film 13 compilation in 2015. On the commercial side, Phil has directed over a dozen spots with a focus on the not-for-profit space, including an immigration piece centred on the Syrian refugee crisis in 2016 titled AHLAN BEAR (John Street) which picked up a Silver Pencil at the One Show and received Cannes Short List mention.
